Michael Started his public safety career in 1988 as a dispatcher for a small municipality doing police, fire and EMS.
In 1990 he went to EMT school and started his EMS career by moving out to west Texas and working in a small community on a BLS ambulance.
A short time later he moved back home and went to work as a firefighter/Paramedic eventually rising to senior paramedic as well as doing fire prevention and Arson Investigations. In the years since he has worked for a hospital-based EMS education program as well as community college and university level programs. Michael has taught internationally in four foreign countries and in numerous states in the US.
Michael has worked for Rotor and Fixed wing EMS services as both a flight paramedic and regional director of base operations, and Private EMS services rising to the level of Vice President for a company with operations in four states with over 300 employees. Job duties have included Business Development, Human resources, logistics and supply chain, clinical operations, compliance and safety and ambulance supervision and operations as well as communications center leadership and supervised the construction of 2 new communications centers. Michael has spent a significant portion of the last 10 years doing non-traditional EMS responses including disaster response while serving as an ambulance strike team leader, Medical Incident Support team and Ambulance staging. In addition, special event coverage for large scale mass gatherings including sporting events, music festivals and providing safety and risk for said said events.
Michael currently holds certifications at the paramedic level in Texas, Oklahoma, Michigan and Illinois, as well as the Instructor certification in Texas. Michael has also been heavily active in the teaching of ACLS, PALS, CPR and ITLS as an instructor and Affiliate Faculty, as well as attended critical care training. Michael has an associate degree in Business Administration from Colorado Technical University.
